Grant and Elizabeth are Arkansans; born and bred. They met
in High School in Fort Smith in 1980 and
remained close friends during Grant’s time as a cadet at West
Point. Ten months after returning from an 18 month Infantry
assignment to Korea,
Grant married Elizabeth and they have
been living in wedded bliss for the last 20 years. They are the proud
parents of five children, Hannah (17), Sarah (15), John (12), Matthew (9),
and Isaac (7). Grant has served in Aviation and Cavalry assignments in Germany, Iraq,
Turkey, and at Fort Hood, Texas.
Grant obtained an Master of Science degree in
Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology prior to his
first West Point teaching assignment in the 90’s and most recently
completed a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Kansas
in 2004. He teaches mechanical engineering courses to Cows and Firsties, provides research support to the Defense
Intelligence Agency, is a leader for West Point Cub Scout Pack 23, and
serves on numerous Academy committees. Elizabeth
